Why Submit Data to the ANZICS Registry?

The ANZICS Registry is identified as a Clinical Quality Registry by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC). Through monitoring patient outcomes, the quality of care and the availability of resources, the Registry contributes to the world class standard of care delivered in intensive care units across Australia and New Zealand.

Standardised versus Non-Standardised Data Collection Tools

Standardised data collection tools are essential for ensuring high-quality data by promoting consistency, accuracy, and reliability across different sources and time periods. They enable better comparability, reduce errors and support effective data integration for analysis.

The following posters summarise the research undertaken by ANZICS CORE over two time periods, to compare the standardised data collection tool (COMET) with the non-standardised tool (Clinical Information System/Electronic Medical Record) in submission of compliant data to the Adult Patient Database.

Use of the standardized data collection tool produces more trustworthy quality data to inform the benchmarking of intensive care patient outcomes.
