The CCR survey collects data related to the provision and utilisation of critical care resources in Australia and New Zealand. The CCR Survey was established in 1993 and data collected from approximately 80% of all ICUs across Australia and New Zealand.
Data collected includes: the number of beds by ICU, the number of admissions and readmissions including: occupancy, hours of ventilation, workforce data and information related to ICU safety and quality indicators.
The CCR survey is conducted annually by financial year, and targets more than 200 adult and paediatric critical care units in Australia and New Zealand. The CCR data is an important resource for clinicians and policy makers providing information for forward planning and health services research.
Data submitted through the survey is made available through a range of reports including Unit Detail, Comparative and Time Series reports.
CCR annual reports are provided to contributing hospitals, departments of health, national and state libraries, professional societies and associations and made publicly available through the ANZICS CORE website.
