About the ANZICS Clinical Trials Group

The ANZICS Clinical Trials Group (CTG) was formed in 1994 by a group of Intensivists keen to establish a network of investigators capable of designing and conducting multi-centre, investigator-initiated research in Australasian Intensive Care Units (ICUs). The ANZICS CTG is a highly collegial, multi-disciplinary community of Intensive Care Clinicians & Researchers​ who have to date attracted over $130m (AUD) in total research funding. The ANZICS CTG currently has 41 active studies.

The ANZICS Clinical Trials Group (CTG) is:

  • a standing committee of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS), which is committed to upholding the values of the organisation.
  • a collective of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and dedicated professionals, who collaborate to conduct world-class intensive care research in Australia and New Zealand.
  • committed to establishing networks of investigators, supporting the ICU research workforce, and strengthening partnerships with external research bodies both locally and internationally.
