What is the AHRIG?

Formed in 2024, the specific aims of the AHRIG are to:

  1. Provide peer support for adult and paediatric Allied Health clinicians and pharmacists interested in clinical research in ICU and the critical care population within and outside of ICU
  2. Understand unique challenges faced by Allied Health clinicians and Pharmacists in research and strive to improve/mitigate these challenges
  3. Assist with research-related communication between Allied Health clinicians and Pharmacists in ICUs within Australia and New Zealand
  4. Endeavour to provide clinical research professional development and mentoring opportunities
  5. Promote the success of Allied Health clinicians and pharmacists in ICU research
  6. Advise the ANZICS CTG (or PSG) on issues related to the conduct and coordination of Allied Health and Pharmacy ICU research by representation on executive and management committees of studies to ensure the ANZICS CTG receives AHRIG input
  7. Promote Allied Health clinicians and pharmacists inter-hospital interdisciplinary ICU research projects
  8. Advocate for improved research environments within ANZICS CTG membership ICUs to support AH lead research (including but not limited to structural and financial support)
  9. Promote collaboration of ANZ AHRIG Allied Health clinicians and pharmacists with international groups
  10. Provide strategic support for research impact and dissemination.
