The ANZICS Paediatric Group is a collaborative effort by Australian & New Zealand PICUs, and other ICUs that admit paediatric patients, to foster and promote meaningful discussion and research within the Australian and NZ Paediatric Intensive Care Communities.
The ANZICS Paediatric Study Group (PSG) was formed in 2003 by a group of Paediatric Intensivists and Intensive Care Nurses to design and conduct multi-centre research in Australian and New Zealand Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) as well as some adult units that admit children. The PSG also oversees the ANZICS Paediatric Intensive Care Registry (ANZPIC Registry) which collects and analyses data from all specialist PICUs plus paediatric admissions from contributing mixed adult/paediatric ICUs. The PSG is a multi-disciplinary group of paediatric intensive care clinicians who have to date conducted, or are conducting, seven clinical studies and four ANZPIC Registry studies. It has published clinical papers with the PSG as author, as well as multiple Registry papers.
The PSG supports the conduct of world-class clinical research in Australasian paediatric intensive care and is committed to collaborating with the ANZICS Clinical trials Group, external research bodies and international PICUs.
