CLABSI data is submitted by state jurisdictions, infection control departments and intensive care units. The CLABSI dataset and reporting system enables ICUs to compare CLABSI rates against peer units throughout Australia. This can be found at https://surveillance.anzics.org
In order to ensure consistency in surveillance, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality (ACSQHC) publish the national definition of Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection Case on their website.
ANZICS works in collaboration with jurisdictional surveillance bodies to submit ICU CLABSI data with the exception of Northern Territory and Tasmania, where data is submitted by participating ICUs. For further assistance please contact us at anzics.core@anzics.org
